TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Directorate General for Export Development at the Trade Ministry seeks to boost non-oil and gas exports to South Korea. Along with the Korean Importers Association (KOIMA), the ministry held a business forum at the Sheraton Hotel Gandaria City in Jakarta today.

The event is part of KOIMA's purchase mission expected to create a balanced trade relationship between the two nations, ministry official Dody Edward said as he opened the event on behalf of Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita

KOIMA is a globally-acknowledged South Korea's leading trade association established to promote trade as a means to make a substantial contribution to the country's economy. Their purchase mission is a program held up to five times a year.

To Indonesia, KOIMA brings 66 corporate delegates led by its chairman Myoung Jin Shin.

South Korea is one of Indonesia's biggest investors and the 7th biggest trade partner. In 2016, South Korea invested US$1.06 billion in Indonesia. The trade value between two countries last year amounted to US$13.68 billion, with Indonesia exporting US$7 billion.
