Indonesia Supports Equal G20-Africa Partnership

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia supported the development of equal partnership between G20 and Africa, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo said in his speech in G20 Summit Leaders Retreat KTT G20in the session of cooperation with Africa, migration and health in Hamburg, Germany.


"Indonesia has gone a long way with Africa from the beginning when we fought for independence and equality among countries though Asia Africa Conference in 1955," President Jokowi stated as published by Presidential Office press bureau head Bey Machmudin in Jakarta on Sunday (9/7).

President Jokowi said that Indonesia has worked with African countries in development and peace.


"Alongside South Africa, Indonesia pioneered New Asian-African Strategic Partnership (NAASP) in 2005 to enhance cooperation in politics, economy and social and culture. This cooperation was then reinforced in 2015," the President explained in the sideline of the G20 summit.
