Indonesia Reconsiders Sharing Information with US, Australia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa says his ministry is currently reviewing its partnership with the United States and Australia on sharing information following the revelation that the US may have been spying on Indonesia through its ally Australia.
So far, Indonesia has been formally exchanging information with these two nations.
"But if they are informally gathering information, then what is the formal method for? We cannot accept a policy such as this," said Marty on Monday.
Marty added that the Australian and US embassies could not verify or deny these allegations yet. The wiretapping allegedly conducted by these two nations has caused international instability.
"It will take a huge effort to gain our trust again," said Marty.
