More Than One Million Commute Through Senen Station During Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Based on data from State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) on Sunday, more than 1 million people commute through Pasar Senen Station during 2017 Eid al Fitr period (from 15 June to 11 July) via train.


PT KAI recorded more than 550,000 tickets on departure from Pasar Senen Station throughout the Eid period. Meanwhile, almost 460,000 passengers will arrive in the station. The period serves as a reference in that period PT KAI provides 12 extra trains to anticipate the increasing number of passengers.

The same data also indicates that the exodus flow is observed in Senen Station on the third day of Eid and it ends on the first week of July, with stable statistics of arrival from 21,000 to 25,000 people.


Meanwhile, what is more interesting from the data is the stable rate of exodus flow until Saturday (1/6) or a week after Eid. The number of passengers departs from Senen Station on days after Eid is at a stable range of 24,000 to 27,000. Overall, the flow of homecoming by train in Senen Station this year is much higher compared to the exodus flow with the difference of 100,000 passengers.
