Papua Police Hope No Security Issues

"We hope there is no security problem. We have briefed our members to give the persuasive approach a priority and provide preventive measures and early detection towards any potential violations against our constitution," he said in Timika on Saturday, July 1.
He said that measures of early detection against any potential security problems have been constantly taken by Indonesian Police and Military in Papua by intensively communicating with all groups in Papua community. He also urges all police officers in Papua to keep raising awareness to hinder them from committing acts that go against the law.
Papua has lately been vulnerable to security problems especially on 1 July and 1 December which mark the establishment of separatist movements called Papua National Liberation Force (TPN) and Free Papua Movement (OPM).ANTARA
