TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Police Gen. Tito Karnavian said the two terrorist suspects arrested in Bima learned how to make bombs online. They also communicated with Bahrun Naim directly.
"It seems that [the network] in Bima also learn about attack methods online, through Bahrun Naim as well," Tito said in Jakarta, Monday, June 19.
From the suspects, the police confiscated triacetone triperoxide (TATP) bombs. Tito said they planned to use the bomb in an attack against the police.
"These suspects from Bima intended to attack the Woha Police Precinct," he said.
Tito said that in Bima there have been several attacks that led to the deaths of police officers.
This, Tito said, is similar to the attack in Kampung Melayu Terminal, East Jakarta, where the bombers learned how to make the explosives online.
Tito confirmed that the two suspects are members of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah group (JAD).
"The recent attacks are all carried out by JAD cells, including the terrors at Kampung Melayu and Jalan Thamrin," said Tito.
On Saturday night, June 17, The Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror unit captured KW and NH in Bima District, West Nusa Tenggara.
