TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Setyo Wasisto reminded Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan to be more careful in revealing information related to the acid attack case to mass media.

Setyo warned Novel that information revealed to the media is not on behalf of justice and that the KPK investigator is suggested to file the information a police report.

“I remind Novel once again if he accuses an individual or anyone in that matter, and it turns out not to be true, it would most certainly have a legal implication,” Setyo said.

Setyo stated that it would not be difficult to expose perpetrators who attacked Novel, so long as Novel Baswedan revealed any information that might lead to them.

In response to Novel’s statement saying that a high-ranking police officer was involved in the attack, Setyo said that he would investigate to confirm the allegation.

Police have not yet questioned Novel Baswedan, who sustained injuries due to the acid attack, as a victim.
