KPK Announces 10 Regions Most Vulnerable to Corruption

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairman Saut Situmorang stated that there are 10 regions most vulnerable to corruption and they are prioritized for supervision.
These regions are Aceh, Papua, West Papua, Riau, Banten, North Sumatera, Bengkulu, Central Java, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Central Sulawesi.

Those regions are considered most vulnerable to corruption since they have large sum of special autonomy regional budget.
"Let alone those regions have been led by corrupt leaders," Saut said on Saturday (10/6).
Saut explained that the prioritized regions for supervision translate into an initiative to assist local government to not fall into the same trap because the potential for corruption revolves around the same thing which is state officials.Despite the case, Saut clarified that it doesn’t mean KPK overlooks supervision to other regions.
"KPK will continue to monitor from Aceh to Papua," he said.
Saut further said that as long as KPK has enough evidence, any institutions will be processed legally.
