Garuda Operates Large Aircraft for Eid Day Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia prepared 61,324 flight seats by operating large aircraft for extra flight to anticipate increasing passengers in homecoming-exodus flow of Eid 2017.
Garuda Indonesia president director Pahala N. Mansury said that the period of Eid transport is the peak of flight operation especially conciding with school holiday resulting an increase in the seat capacity to 87.24 percent.
"The increase of additional seats for the peak of Eid this year is around 60,000, a third of the number is from larger type of aircraft that we normally use, the remaining two third of the number is from additional frequency of both domestic and international flights," Pahala said in Jakarta on Saturday (27/5).
The composition of the use of bigger aircraft and extra flights consists of 50,210 seats for domestic flights and 11,114 seats for international flights.
Meanwhile, the type of aircraft to operate are B737-800 aircraft (162 passengers), A330-200 (222 passengers), A330-300 (287 passengers), and A330-300 for all economy class (360 passengers).
