TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia has condemned a shooting incident taking place on Thursday evening local time, April 20, in Paris.

“In relation to Paris shooting, Indonesia condemns the act of terror,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir said in Jakarta on Friday, April 21.

According to Nasir, the Indonesian Embassy in Paris said that there were no Indonesians among the victim in the attack.

The Embassy continues to coordinate with local authorities to monitor the security situation in Paris.

French police and home affairs ministry earlier reported that the attack killed one and injured two others.

The attack, in which the assailant was also killed, took place in Champs Élysées just days before France presidential election.

Reuters cited that a witness saw a man came out of a car on the scene before firing a machine gun.

A police source said that shooting also took place in nearby location.
