TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Government officials of Bogor Regency and Bogor City conducted a closed meeting at the Bogor Regent office in Cibinong on Thursday, March 23, 2017. The meeting was intended to coordinate efforts to prevent further clash between online-based motorcycle taxi drivers and public bus drivers in both regions.

Chief of Public Relations of Bogor City government Tya Ajeng, said that the meeting was attended by Bogor Regent Nurhayanti and Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto. Other officials that are present in the meeting includes officials of the Bogor Regency and Bogor City Resort Police, Traffic Directorate of the West Java Police, West Java Transportation Agency, and other institutions.

“There are also several elements who wish to contribute in finding a solution to the conflict between online-based motorcycle taxi and public bus drivers,” Tyas said on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

In relation to the recent strike held by public bus drivers in Bogor city, Tyas said that the Bogor education agency has issued a letter to all principals of public and private school to continue monitor the current situation.

“If there is a public transportation strike, then [schools] must make a policy that matches current condition,” Tyas said while adding that if the condition does not allow students to go to school, the school should let students to stay and study at home.
