5.9-magnitude Earthquake Strikes Aceh

TEMPO.CO , Sabang - A 5.9-magnitude earthquake strikes Aceh’s Sabang Island and its vicinity on Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Aceh chapter reports that the earthquake took place at 09:51:15 local time at a depth of 10 kilometers and it has no potential to cause a tsunami.
The BMKG reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a latitude of 6.01 degrees north and a longitude of 92.16 degrees east, 353 kilometers northwest of Sabang City. The quake was also felt in Meulaboh, West Aceh.
