TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) welcomed the move taken by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to give protection to the witnesses in the investigation of a case of alleged embezzlement involving the multi-million-dollar procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP).

"We welcome LPSK's move to protect the witnesses because LPSK has the authority for that," KPK Spokesperspn Febri Diansyah said in Jakarta in Jakarta on Friday (10/3).

In relation to that, Febri said KPK would coordinate with LPSK to discuss the protection mechanism.

"KPK will coordinate with LPSK and the witnesses who feel threathened can come to LPSK or KPK," Febri said.

Febri also warned those who want to influence the witnesses because there is sanction for that, including on Article 21 of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption.

"The witnesses do not have to worry about threats. Do coordinate with KPK or LPSK immediately, " Febri said.
