Bandung Bomb Suspect Asks the Release of Densus 88`s Detainees

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - West Java Police Chief, Inspector General Anton Charliyan, immediately appeared at the location where the shootout took place between police squad and the bombing suspect. According to Anton, the suspect requested the release of the detainees that are currently under the custody of Police's special detachment (Densus 88).
“The suspect was hiding at Arjuna sub-district office. [The suspect] demanded the release of suspects that are under the Densus 88 custody,” Anton said on Monday, February 27, 2017.
Anton stated that the suspect allegedly was carrying a firearm since gunshot sounds were heard at the location. A shootout also took place between the suspect and the police that were conducting the siege. Anton clarified that the suspect has been neutralized.
Previously at 09:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time, a bomb exploded at Pandawa Park which is located at Krisna Street, Cicendo District, Bandung City.
