Terrorism is Indonesia`s Enemy, Minister says

TEMPO.CO, Samarinda - Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo stated that terrorism is Indonesia’s enemy against development. He claimed that there has not been any serious problems in our country’s development. Starting from planning, he said, has gone according to plan.
"The enemy of this country, Indonesia’s challenges, is not development-related problems. Everything is clear. Everything is well-planned, except for radicalism and terrorism issues," Tjahjo said in the conclusion of the third KORPRI’s National Koran Recital Competition in islamic Center, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Saturday (19/11).
Minister Tjahjo said that prevention in detecting radicalism in Indonesia calls for a joint effort. He further added that terrorism anticipation has to be resolved from the closest institution. He asked all KORPRI members to actively apporach the people and detect early advances of radicalism and terrorism.
He also urges Indonesian Military to blend in with the people. He said that we have to promote tolerance among poeple with different religions. Muslims as the majority must respect other people with different religions as the minority.
In Samarinda, Oikumene church was bombed and four children fell victim to the incident. The police has arrested 21 suspects and one of the perpetrators is Juhanda or Muhammad Aceng who is a book-bombing residivist from Jakarta.
