TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has targeted that the construction of five toll road projects in four provinces can be completed by 2018. The government has completed the land acquisition process and is currently awaiting the development realization by business entities.
“When will it be completed? In 2018? I’ll note it,” President Jokowi said in the National Palace on Thursday, June 9, 2016.
Those five toll road projects include Manado-Bitung with 39km, Balikpapan-Samarinda (99km), Pandaan-Malang (38km), Serpong-Balaraja (30km), and Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung (185km). The total investment disbursed is Rp48.8 trillion.
Jokowi said the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road was stalled for four years due to land acquisition issue.
Coordinating Minister of Economy Affairs Darmin Nasution said the government is enforcing Law No.2/2012 on land procurement for public use to speed up land acquisition process.
“Toll road can increase connectivity and reduce logistics cost,” said Darmin.
