TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Around 10,000 residents from Villa Nusa Indah II residential complex, Bojongkulur Village, District Gunung Putri, Bogor, are expected to hold a rally on Sunday (22/5).

The meeting is planned to be done around their residential area and its goal is to declare their demands to be administratively moved to Bekasi City government.

"We will sign a petition to demand to be moved administratively to Bekasi,"said Trihernantyo, a resident coordinator at Villa Nusa Indah II, Trihernantyo on Friday (20/5).

Trihernantyo added that the forum wants to show the seriousness of their separation from the administration area of Bogor Regency.

So far, he said, their areas have never had infrastructure improvements and improving badly damaged roads are often tackled by residents themselves.

When flooding hit the area a few weeks ago, for example, he said that the aid first came from Bekasi City Government.

“The Bogor regency government steps in 12 days after the floods,” he added.

In the meantime, West Java Deputy Governor Dedy Mizwar said that West Java provincial government is willing to help addressing the problem.

He added that the option to move administratively to Bekasi is not an easy matter and takes a long time and it should involve Home Affairs Ministry.
