ERP Application Still Hampered by Regulation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama ensured that the electronic road pricing (ERP) system will still be applied in the capital. But there is still argument regarding the revenue of ERP.
He said that the regulation for the local revenue is still in discussion phase.
"The obstacle is about the concept as retribution or transportation regulating tool. While the retribution should be decreed on bylaw how much the rate," he said at City Hall, Thursday (12/31).
He added that he prefers the rate charged to riders is adjusted with the road condition. Because, he continued, the main purpose of ERP is for vehicles number control tool.
"For me, it is vehicle number control tool so the money can be organized as i want. If it's quiet we'll lower it, if it's crowded we'll rise it," he uttered.
He targets ERP starts operating in the upcoming 2017. Since the legal protection is decided in that year.
As known, two companies have done ERP trial in two different locations. The first location is Jalan Sudirman installed by Kapsch. The second one is Jalan Rasuna Said by Q-Free.
