TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Malioboro Technical Executive Unit has confirmed that Malioboro will continue to open its space to display variety of art works including installation arts and sculpture.

“There have been few installation removed in the past few days, such as the elephant sculpture in Yogyakarta’s Zero Kilometer. But we are still open if there are artists who want to display their artworks along Malioboro,” said Syarif Teguh, Head of UPT Malioboro in Yogyakarta on October 16 as quoted from Antaranews.

“Please feel free to contact us should there is artist who who want to display their works. Malioboro is a public space and art installations would beautify this tourism destination.”

There were around 17 artworks by 12 artists adorned Malioboro since the past one year. They were first installed for the “2014 Jogja Sculpture Exhibition”. Some of them were removed in a need to clear some space for other upcoming activities such as Indonesian Film Appreciations and carnivals.
