TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is opening its doors wide to American investors, as House of Representatives (DPR) speaker Setya Novanto said during a visit to Washington DC.

With Deputy Speaker Fadli Zon and other DPR members, the delegate's visit to the US includes meetings and discussions with local businesses.

In a meeting with the US-ASEAN Bussiness Council, Setya said that Indonesia has issued a package of economic policies that include simplifications of investment regulations and deregulation policies.

The deregulations include the simplification of some 160 regulations in the field of investment, industry and trade," he said in a press release received by ANTARA News in Jakarta on Friday, September 11, 2015.

The US-ASEAN Business Council is composed of 140 leading US companies. Setya also said that Indonesia is giving as many opportunities for American businesses to invest in Indonesia.

The meeting was attended by US employers such as the corporate leaders of Coca Cola, Philip Morris, General Electric, and Freeport.
