TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Hundreds of labors from various alliances and labor unions in Tangerang will move towards Jakarta from Citra Raya, Bitung, and Balaraja, Tangerang District, by using Tangerang-Jakarta toll road.

“They will be escorted by law enforcers,” Tangerang City Resort Police Chief Sr.Comm. Irman Sugema said on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Tangerang City Resort Police have deployed 650 personnels to secure and escort the laborers. “Police escort starts from the point of departure up to Jakarta,” said Irman.

Irman said hundreds of police personnels along with the Civil Service Police Unit and the National Army will be escorting protestors from the departure point.

Police will also anticipate so that protestors do not enter toll roads using motorcycles, blocking toll roads, and not conduct sweeping in factories.

Irman said there will not be any traffic diversions because they will be directly routed to Tangerang-Jakarta toll road. Police will also deploy personnels at toll gates.

In Tangerang, several roads are expected to be crowded by laborers moving towards the capital. “The roads that will be passed by laborers include Bitung Street from Jatiuwung, M.H. Thamrin Street from Cimone Terminal, and Daan Mogor Street from Batuceper,” said Tangerang Metro Resort Traffic Chief Comm. Donni Eka Syaputra.

Donni says eleven buses will transport laborers from four points: 7 buses from Jatiuwung, 3 buses from Cimone Terminal and 1 bus from Batuceper.
