Pertamina Denies LPG Scarcity in South Sulawesi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Pertamina has denied there was scarcity of 3-kg LPGs in several regions in South Sulawesi.
“Based on information on field, there is no scarcity in Parepare, Sidrap and surrounding areas,” said Pertamina’s corporate communications vice president Wianda Pusponegoro on Sunday.
Wianda explained that Pertamina still distributes LPG gas through PT Luwu’s LPG filling station (SPBE) with volume of 110.6 metric tons per day, enough to meet LPG needs in 17 agents.
Wianda said for Sidrap, Pertamina’s distributor PT Sinar Energi distributes LPG of 34.3 metric tons per day through six LPG agents.
“So, for Parepare, Sidrap and surrounding areas, we overall distribute LPG of 144.9 metric tons per day,” said Wianda.
As reported by Tempo, several residents in Ajatappareng region, especially in Parepare, Pinrang and Barru, complained about the difficulty in finding LPG.
It is also said that there is a price hike from Rp15,700 per tube to Rp20,000 and Rp30,000 per container.
