TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Participants of the Jakbook & Edu Fair 2015 said that the number of visitors increased on the second day, Wednesday, July 29, 2015, unaffected by Jakarta Governor's criticism at the opening day.

Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama's criticised that products sold at the fair are far more expensive that in other markets. He lashed out at the fair organisers and refused to officially open the fair on Tuesday.

Ririn, 26, a stall attendant of local books publisher Mizan, told Tempo that the number of visitors attending her stall had reached thousands on the second day. She said that groups of visitors came from East Jakarta. Over the last two days, Ririn added, she managed to sell more stationaries than other products.

"Most of the buyers are primary school students," she said.

Nadia, a bag stall attendant, said Ahok’s criticism over products sold at higher prices did affect the number of visitors. In fact, Nadia said that bags sold at her stall were sold below market prices.

"The price tag for that bag is Rp 30,000 (US$2.3). It’s usually sold for Rp 50,000 (US$3.8)," Nadia said while pointing at a bag hanging at the stall.
