TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina has scheduled to launch Pertalite, a new type of RON (Octane Number) 90 fuel, after Eid al-Fitr. Pertamina spokesperson Wianda Pusponegoro, said that the company has started to distribute the new fuel.
"The trial will be started this week," Wianda said at Pertamina head office in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
Wianda explained that Pertalite can be purchased in three major cities, namely Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, during the trial period. Wianda added that Pertalite will be available in 103 gas stations in the aforementioned cities: 44 gas stations in Jakarta, 30 gas stations in Surabaya and 29 gas stations in Bandung.
Wianda revealed that Pertamina had started to supply eight tons of Pertalite in each gas station in preparation to launch the new fuel.
"The supply will be increased if the product receives positive response from the public," Wianda said.
Wianda said that the Pertalite will be sold at a price higher than the Premium but lower than the Pertamax.
"We will announce the price during the launch," Wianda stated.
