TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of Eid Day homecoming traveler by bus this year is predicted to drop compared to the number last year.
"The growth of travelers by bus this year drops by 5.97 percent compared to the gwoth last year,” said Director of Traffic and Transportation of the Transportation Ministry Eddi on Saturday (20/6) in Jakarta.
In 2014, the number of holiday travellers by bus reached 5.23 million people while in 2015, it is estimated to reach only 4.91 million people.
Eddi said that the drop in the number of homecoming travelers by buses is because passengers do not feel comfortable travelling by bus.
As a result, he said that many passengers choose other modes of transportation or choose to travel with private vehicles.
He further said that two of the factors of inconvenience of travelling by bus are longer duration and unsatisfactory services provided by bus operators.
