US, Indonesia Sign MoU on Technical Aviation Support

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - MITRE, a United States federally-funded research and development center has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airnav Indonesia and Angkasa Pura II on June 9, 2015. The three companies have agreed to cooperate on technical aviation support.
The MoU signing, which was held at the residence of Robert Blake, the United States Ambassador to Indonesia, the MoU marks the end of the US Industry Day event held in cooperation with the Transportation Ministry. The event also marks the launching of the Aviation Working Group (AWG) established by US and Indonesian government and private sector.
During the event, Ambassador Blake said that the development of the aviation industry is one of the key factor of President Joko Widodo’s economic growth strategy, which focused on infrastructure.
In addition, Blake applauded the establishment of the AWG, which he claimed will serve as an engagement platform for the US government and Indonesian aviation stakeholders in sharing experiences on best practices, and discussing solutions to support Indonesian aviation sector growth.
