TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Riau Islands provincial administration has opened an investment opportunity in tourism industry at Bintan Free Trade Zone for domestic and foreign investors during the Investment Briefing.

Yudithia, the head of liaison office of the Riau Islands provincial administration, said that Bintan, as one of international tourist destinations in the province, has an enormous potential for development.

“The island is very promising, and it would be a perfect location for investment in tourism, such as resorts, hotel and other tourism facilities,” Yudithia said in a press release as reported by Bisnis on Saturday, May 30, 2015.

Attending the Investment Briefing were business owners who are members of Britcham Indonesia, members of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), and several representatives of foreign embassies, such as Turkey, Australia, Norway, Poland and others.

The participants have welcomed the opportunity who enthusiastically asked questions related to incentives, priority sectors and land acquisitions in Bintan.

The provincial government has promised to improve infrastructure to support the tourism development in the area.
