TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has announced that experience and competence are the main criteria for the next board of directors of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
“Experience and competence are the main standards in the competence testing. These two factors are paramount and non-negotiable,” said OJK’s stock exchange supervision head Nurhaida in a release on Sunday.
She said another factor that was equally-vital was the candidates’ track records: whether they have ever violated any regulations.
Nurhaida said experience in the stock market environment was among the main requirements that the candidates should meet.
“For example, five years’ experience in a financial service company and a minimum of three years’ experience in a stock exchange company,” she said.
Nurhaida also said the OJK hoped the candidates for the next members of the IDX’s board of directors included in the upcoming fit-and-proper tests were selected, exceptional individuals who met the expectations of the bourse’s members.
