TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) received a loan of Rp 2 trillion to build the electric train in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The loan comes from a syndicate of four banks: Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, and BCA.

The loan agreement was signed in Jakata, on Monday, April 20. Each bank provides a loan with the same amount and tenor of 14 years.

PT KAI received a loan of Rp1.4 trillion, or 84 percent of the total cost of construction. KAI's subsidiary that manages the airport train, PT Railink, received a loan of Rp612 billion.

"This is an important loan given how we need to prioritize infrastructure development," BCA director Suwignyo Budiman said.

The project's total value is estimated to reach Rp2.5 trillion. KAI finance director Kurniadi Atmosasmito said the construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
