TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Regular commuter line passenger services between Tanah Abang and Palmerah Station have been temporarily suspended, said the spokesperson for electric train operator PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ), Eva Chairunissa, due to a fault with the electrical grid that powers and connects both stations.
"Repairs are currently underway, but we are still unsure when it will be completed," said Eva to Tempo on Monday morning, March 30, 2015.
The disruption began when the power line in question snapped at 06.30 Jakarta time. That said, Eva ensured that the damage was not caused by the rapid development of the areas surrounding the affected track.
Eva said that regular services between Parung Panjang, Maja, Serpong, and Palmerah are still running as per usual. As a result, the disruption has caused a massive pile-up of frustrated passengers at Palmerah Station, especially since the disruption occurred during the morning peak hour, said Eva.
