TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Starting Saturday, February 21, 2015, city-owned bus operator PT TransJakarta applies the e-ticket system in all corridors and ticket counters at all the bus stops do not sell tickets any longer.

The new system is met with positive responses from a number of TransJakarta passengers.

Yulis (28) said the she was helped by the new system.

“It makes it easier for me as I can avoid the hassle of buying the ticket,” she said, adding that she regularly takes TransJakarta buses in her daily routines.

Another passenger, Edi (45), said that it was the first time he used the system.

“This is the first I buy the card and use it,” he said, adding that the system is quite good.

"So I don’t have to prepare small changes (to buy the ticket),” he added.

For the record, the e-ticket system has been gradually implemented since August 2014, starting from Corridor 1 and now the system is implemented in all corridors.

With the new system, Passengers will have to use electronic money issued by six national banks, namely state-owned Bank Mandiri, Bank Nasional Indonesia (BNI), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), city-owned Bank DKI and the privately-owned Bank Central Asia (BCA) and Bank Mega.

The passengers have to tap the card on the rolling door. They can also purchase and reload the card at TransJakarta bus stops.
