Pertamina Insists On Keeping Petral

Petral Tak Jadi Dibubarkan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesperson of the state oil and gas operator PT Pertamina (Ali Mundakir said that the role of PT Pertamina Energy Trading Ltd (Petral) is still needed.


He also said that just like other world oil companies, Pertamina needs a representative office in Singapore.


"Almost all world oil companies have a trading arm in Singapore. So I see nothing wrong if we have one too,” Ali said in Jakarta on Saturday, December 6, 2014.


According to Ali, a company like Petral is needed to facilitate communication between Pertamia and other companies.


"The most important thing is that Petral has been working transparently,” he added.


In the meantime, Chairman of the Oil and Gas Management Reform Faisal Basri previously said that chain of oil import trade was disrupted by a mafia network in collaboration with Petral.


Faisal also admitted that he had received numerous reports from intern people both from Pertamina and Petral.
