TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – TheJakarta city administration is working with the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base to host the 2018 Asian Games. The collaboration will take form in using the Air Force ground for sports facilities.
"Their facilities can be used jointly," said Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, yesterday.
According to Ahok, the military base will be used as a logistics airport for the Asian Games.
In addition to using their runway, the Air Force has given permission to have the land surrounding its base to be used as a sports field "for competing athletes to train and exercise," said Ahok.
