TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Enny Sri Hartati, director of Institute for Development Iconology and Finance (INDEF), said that at the G-20 summit, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will bring a similar agenda to that at the APEC summit in Beijing.

"The point is, Jokowi will convince foreign countries to invest in Indonesia," Enny told Tempo on Friday, November 14.

According to Enny, Jokowi may be able to convince foreign investors with a plan to create good governance in his administration.

Enny said the president must be selective in offering sectors to foreign investors, saying that strategic sectors should remain independently managed by Indonesia.

During Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's term, Enny said, he implemented a liberal economy by providing foreign countries with a wide opportunity to invest in Indonesia. Jokowi, Enny added, could learn a thing or two from the previous government.

"If everything is offered to foreign countries, what's left for the Indonesian people?" Enny said.
