Batik Air Welcomes Three New Aribus

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aircraft maker Airbus had just delivered three A320 aircrafts ordered by Lion Group. The three new aircraft, which comes equipped with 144 economy-class seats and 12 business-class seats, will strengthen the armada of Lion Air's subsidiary, Batik Air.
The delivery of the three new aircrafts was the first phase out of the total 234 Airbus aircrafts purchased by Lion Group. The ceremony of the aircraft delivery was witnessed by Airbus CEO Fabrice Bregier, Founder and CEO of Lion Group Rusdi Kirana, and CEO of Batik Air Ahmad Luthfie.
Batik Air will be the first airline to use the A320 in Lion Group. The full-service oriented airline is now serving over 10 flight routes. At the end of this year, the airline will start serving 15 flight routes both domestic and regional. "We are very happy to welcome our first shipment of Airbus aircrafts," said Rusdi.
The agreement for the purchase of 234 aircrafts was signed in March 2013 in Elysee Palace, France. According to Beiger, Lion Group's total order value reached up to 18.4 million Euro, breaking the record of the largest order by one airline in Airbus history. The signing was attended by French President Francois Hollande.
