Ahok Reports Alleged Corruption Regional-Owned Company

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Acting Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama on Friday, October 31, 2014, came to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building to report alleged corruption in regional-owned company Dharma Jaya, which is responsible for providing beef.


Ahok was unwilling to explain who were the actors involved in the corruption. He came to the KPK accompanied by Jakarta government secretary Saefullah.


PD Dharma Jaya is a company owned by the Jakarta provincial government that provides and collects livestock, manages slaughterhouses, provides meat storage and distributes as well as markets meat. Former Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo had planned to close down PD Dharma Jaya due to alleged corruption in the company last year.


Based on Supreme Audit Agency's audit, there are 14 findings with calculated state losses of Rp 4.9 billion. The figure is based on investigation on PD Dharma Jaya financial year 2010/2011.
