TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Joko Widodo administration will propose revision to the 2015 state budget (APBN) in January 2015. “It cannot be done in 2014. Changes will be proposed in 2015,” said Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro on Monday.

Jokowi has split, merged and formed new ministries in his government. The Public Works Ministry and the Public Housing Ministry were merged into the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry. The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry was streamlined to the Tourism Ministry.

The Education and Culture Ministry and the Research and Technology Ministry were changed to the Culture, Primary and Secondary Education Ministry and the Research, Technology and High Education Ministry. The Forestry Ministry and Environment Ministry were merged into the Environment and Forestry Ministry.

The Manpower and Transmigration Ministry and the Development of Disadvantaged Regions Ministry were split to the Manpower Ministry and the Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Ministry. The Coordinating Ministry for People’s Welfare was changed to the Coordinating Ministry for Human and Cultural Development. Jokowi also established a new coordinating ministry: the Maritime Ministry.

Bambang said the Finance Ministry will focus on managing the finance of each ministry and maintaining fiscal sustainability to face internal and external pressures stemming from the normalization of The Fed’s policy until the end of 2014.

“We will also issue economic policies in the financial sector until the end of 2014, so that our targets can be achieved,” he said.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sofyan Djalil said there would be no changes to the 2014 state budget. “It’s only two months left, so there’s no need for a change,” he said, adding that the proposal for the revised 2015 state budget would still be consulted with the House of Representatives.
