TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sjamsidar Isa, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Fashion Designers Council (IPMI), said that Indonesia's fashion industry is ready to be developed and compete with international fashion industry.

"Indonesian market and fashion festival held by Bank Mandiri are realizations of our commitment to show that Indonesian fashion industry is ready to develop and compete with international fashion industry," she said.

Sjamsidar added that IPMI's Trend Show also acts as the organization's plan to develop the fashion, hoping that fashion could help boost Indonesian economy.

According to Era Soekamto, a member of IPMI, said that the Trend Show will exhibit high-quality characters from concepts expressed by designers to become fashion collections.

"This is different than any other shows that tend to only show presentation of collections than presentation of concepts," said Era Soekamto.
