TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In relation to the recent iCloud leaked photo scandal, Apple has decided to increase its account security and apply more strict verification process. Apple now employs two steps of verification before a user can access iCloud.
BBC News reported on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, that Apple requests users to input four digits of code sent to their smartphone using the Find My Phone app. Apple also introduces a remote sign out option that allows users to remove any traces of their iCloud access on a browser system.
Moreover, Apple also urged users to actively renew their username and password because in most cases, user ID or password can be easily guessed by hackers.
Apple CEO Tim Cook added that awareness is also necessary, in order to prevent more leak from happening in the future.
