TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia airline was awarded the World's Best Cabin Crew 2014. The award was given by Skytrax in the biggest airline exhibition in the world, Fanborough International Airshow, England yesterday.
The award made this State-owned Enterprise airline defeating several top airlines such as Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong and Singapore Airline. Both airlines were nominated for the same category.
Garuda Indonesia was crowned by Skytrax as the 7th best airline in the world. The position was up by two ratings from 2013 that was on the 9th position.
"This is the biggest honor for us and Indonesia. I would like to say thank you to our loyal customers," Director of Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar said in England yesterday.
Skytrax is an independent survey organization in England that performs airline and airport ranking-based on consumers’ survey and direct observation. The survey is based on 18.85 million airline passengers in the world. Passengers from 160 countries took part in choosing the best airline out of 245 existing airlines in the world, starting from periods of August 2013 until May 2014.
