TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) secretary, Gde Pradnyana, said SKK Migas is having a hard time to reach petroleum production target in the state budget.
"It's hard to achieve 870,000 barrels a day," said Gde, Tuesday.
The failure to achieve the target is caused by the unfinished Cepu Block project at Bojonegoro, East Java. "Cepu project cannot be operated in May while it was assumed that the project could supply around 20,000-30,000 barrels a day by May 2014," said Gde.
Cepu project, which was started in 2008, will be completed on August this year. Production can only start on November 2014. Gde said if the project is completed, the production will peak at 150,000 barrels a day by January 2015.
The missed production target has caused SKK Migas to revise the target. "We have reduced the production target to 820,000 barrels a day," said Gde.
