Indonesia, Austria Cooperates in Building Transportation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Transportation has strengthened cooperation in transportation with the Austrian government by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on innovation and technology development. Indonesian Transportation Minister Evers Erenst Mangindaan and Austrian Innovation and Technology Minister Doris Bures signed the MoU on Monday, May 5, 2014.
Mangindaan said that in the MoU, both governments would cooperate in exchange of information, experiences, research results and experts in science and technology transformation. "Both governments will etablish a joint working group," he said.
The cooperation between both governments involve transportation projects implementation and means to overcome obstacles. "Specific cooperation will be negotiated and arranged separately," he said.
It is stated in the MoU that an Indonesia-Austria infrastructure and transportation cooperation forum would be established. The forum aims at facilitating dialogues between the governments and private sectors of both countries. "I hope the forum could provide opportunities for stakeholders to improve relations, especially in transportation sector,” said Mangindaan.
