TEMPO.CO, Washington, D.C - The United States military judge has ordered prosecutors to turn over the details about the time Abd al Rahim al-Nashiri, a Guantanamo Bay detainee, spent in secret CIA prisons after his arrest in connection with the deadly attack on the USS Cole in Yemen. Abd al Rahim al-Nashiri was accused of orchestrating the bombing in Yemen, dating October 12, 2000, which killed 17 US sailors.

Saudi Arabian Al-Nashiri has been held at custody at the US military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, since 2006, after undergoing a series of detainment in other secret CIA prisons. A report from CIA inspector general stated that al-Nashiri was waterboarded under rules approved by the George W. Bush administration.

Prosecutors had argued that information about his time spent in CIA custody was irrelevant to the case. On the other hand, Al-Nashiri defense attorney believes that the case against his client is tainted by CIA actions in the secret prisons and could be used to spare him from the death penalty.
