The Raid 2: Berandal to Hit Theaters on March 28

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian production action movie 'The Raid 2: Berandal' will be released on theaters in Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, United States, and Russia on March 28, 2014. The film, which is packed with bone-crunching actions, is directed by Gareth Evans and starred by Indonesian martial art actors Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian.
Evans is promising the martial art fanatics a more complex actions seasoned with a more dramatic plot, where Yayan Ruhian is presented as a contract killer who loves his family. The sequel of 'The Raid: Redemption' is also said to present a larger underworld than it was originally revealed in the first film. Three Japanese actors namely Ryuhei Matsuda, Kenichi Endo, and Kazuki Kitamura are also starring in the film.
"It took us about seven months to do the shooting. It'll present more actions, surprises, and I hope that the film will be very welcomed by Indonesian people," said Evans during the press conference of the film in Epicentrum, South Jakarta, on Friday.
The 148-minute movie involved Joseph Trapanese as the music composer. Joseph had previously collaborating with Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda in working the music for 'The Raid: Redemption'. The Raid 2: Berandal had previously garnered positive responses in the opening of the Sundance Film Festival and had previously screened at ARTE Indonesian Art Festival in Jakarta. The movie also became the film of choice in the SXSW Festival in Texas, United States.
