TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Embassy’s trade attaché Ni Made Ayu Marthini said that the Indonesia pavilion at the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) in Washington D.C., United States, showed its innovation and creativity by screening a movie entitled “Biji Kopi Indonesia” (Aroma of Heaven) produced by a young Indonesian director Budi Kurniawan.
“We want to visually show coffee roasters or buyers in the US the history and the tradition related to coffee in Indonesia, in order to attract them to buy [Indonesian cofee] and to visit Indonesia,” Ni Made Ayu Marthini said as reported by Bisnis.com on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
Made invited Budi to screen his movie at the SCAA since coffee shop owners in the US are currently interested in buying coffee beans directly from farmers. By screening the movie, Made hopes that it would boost American business owners to visit Indonesia.
“The method will have a positive impact on both Indonesia’s economy and tourism,” Made added.
