TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Surabaya Zoo (KBS) will open a night zoo concept to help attract more visitors. "The ones that will be open are the night zoo areas only, not all parts," said Operational Director of Fauna Gardens (PDTS) KBS, Liang Kaspe.
The night zoo complex is located beside the underwater world. With glowing lights, they will be open at night. The animals in the night zoo are some of the fishes of underwater world, reptiles, amphibians, and nocturnal animals.
There are a few collections which are considered as nocturnal animals, such as bats, owls. They will be placed in glass cages. "This is so visitors can enjoy the view safely while relaxing with their families," said Liang.
Underwater world is a modern aquarium. Despite the not-so-large size, it is equipped with tunnels which can be accessed by visitors. "It's a decent one, unlike in Singapore," said Liang.
