TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesman of State-Owned Oil and Gas Company PT Pertamina, Ali Mundakir, said that the distribution of three-kilogram cylinders of subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was likely to be hampered as a series of natural disasters battered several regions recently.

This condition, he said, has disrupted the supply deliveries, and consequently, several regions are likely to experience scarcity of LPGs. "It's more because of the nature factor, such as floods that blocked the roads," he said to the press in Central Jakarta, February 21, 2014.

Ali also admitted that he had yet to receive reports on the scarcity of subsidized LPG in the regions; yet he assured that the Pertamina team would carry out daily monitoring to find out the condition of the distribution and the price among consumers.

Mundakir also believed that the price of subsidized LPGs in several registered agents is already in compliance with the regulations determined by the government and PT Pertamina.
