TEMPO.CO , Surabaya - After a series of animal death at Surabaya Zoo (KBS), the zoo has to suffer another casualty as one of its primate collection died. Agus Sutangkap, Chief of Public Relation at KBS confirmed that a female baboon (Papio Anubis ) was found dead yesterday.
Agus said that the primate has previously suffered some diseases related to her liver and kidney. The zoo itself has been trying to treat the animal since early 2014.
The 23-year-old primate, however, has lived for a a long time, considering that its average life span is at 15 years. Therefore, the police were not involved to investigate the death due to its "natural cause."
Prior to the baboon's death, KBS has been named by international public as the cruelest zoo in the world for its string of animal death cases.
