TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Development Agency's deputy of infrastructure Dedy S. Priatna said Indonesia and Japan will work on super fast train project for Jakarta-Bandung route. This project begins with feasibility study for two years and grant of US$15 million from the government of Japan.

"Shinkansen will have a speed of 300 km/h. Travel time from Bandung to Jakarta will be only 37 minutes," Dedy said yesterday. The Rp56 trillion project will use government-private collaboration scheme (KPS).

Dedy said feasibility study of this project will be conducted by Japanese consultant firms. They are International Consultant for Transportation, Yachiyo Engineering Ltd., Oriental Consultant, Mitsubishi Research Institute, and Nippon Koei, Co., Ltd.

The Japanese team has presented a conception of the 133-kilometer Jakarta-Bandung super fast train with estimated ticket price of Rp200,000 and 37-minute travel time. Stations for this super fast train will be built at Dukuh Atas Jakarta and Gedebage Bandung.
