Small Tsunami Hits Japan after Quake

As reported by BBC today, the earthquake struck at about 02:10 local time on Saturday (17:10 GMT Friday) and it was feared to generate Tsunami. However, only a small tsunami, 30 cm, was triggered by the quake.
The wave hit Japan's eastern coast - where Fukushima nuclear plant is located. Workers at the Fukushima power station had been told to leave waterfront areas for higher ground.
The tsunami advisory was lifted about two hours later. A Fukushima spokesman later said there was no damage due to the quake.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said that although there may be slight sea-level change in coastal regions, no tsunami damage is expected.
